Do you need a permit to remove a tree in the Tampa area?

Many municipalities in Florida require property owners to get a permit to remove a tree. However, there is an exception. If you have trees on your property that might be dangerous, you might not need a tree permit to deal with it as long as you consult a licensed arborist such as Tree Masters Tree Service.

Under a new law put in place last summer, Florida property owners who work with a licensed arborist are no longer required to get a permit from their municipality for tree removal, pruning, or trimming if the arborist deems a tree to be dangerous to persons or property.

If you suspect a tree on your property could be hazardous due to issues such as dying limbs or roots give Tree Masters Tampa’s licensed arborists a call. We’d be happy to advise you on the proper course of action.
